End of school Summer vacation.
Such a bitter sweet time of year for kids & parents. Although the weather doesn't feel like summertime is over...the kids sure feel it is. As a parent preparing for the upcoming new school year I always try and make the transition as smooth as possible. With lots of summer friends saying goodbye, (like Layla's friend Jlen in these images) it's important to make sure they are excited about the new school year and Fall. So when I picked the kids up from their last day of camp and listened to them sulk the entire way home I knew we had to do something light and airy that evening. Jlen will be returning to his home country in the next couple day's so I took the two of them out for a sunset shoot and just let them get some extra hugs, laughs & dancing in. Jlen has been coming to the US for Summers with his family for a few years now and Layla & him have become the best of friends. Although he is very sad he will be leaving everyone this will be the last Winter he will have to spend back in Jamaica! YAY!! For when he comes back to the U.S. next summer (2020) he will be staying for good! The two of them (especially J) could not be more excited :)
